Education is a fundamental component of Salt Marsh Opera’s mission to bring opera to the community, featuring programs for both adults and students.

TheGuild offers a series of lectures about various aspects of opera by knowledgeable lecturers from diverse backgrounds.

The Student Intern Program gives talented high school and college students a hands-on learning experience in a professional production while being mentored by a member of the Salt Marsh Opera production staff.

Student Dress Rehearsal Performances include a full operatic experience of a live partial dress rehearsal with staging, costumes, supertitles and orchestra, followed by a question-answer session when students have an opportunity to interact with the directors and cast.

Children's Opera Performances make it possible for students in fifth and sixth grades to experience a fully-staged abridged version of a complete opera performed by professional singers and an accompanist.

In-School Visits prior to an attending an opera performance provide smaller groups of students with the chance to meet and learn directly from a professional singer and accompanist whom they will see on stage in a production. Teachers receive a study guide to enrich the students' learning experience.
