Step into the opulent sound world of the Baroque era with this captivating program of Handel arias, performed by countertenor Christopher Lowrey and Simon Holt, accompanist. Drawing from some of Handel’s most beloved operas, the program showcases the emotional depth and vocal virtuosity that define his music—from the fiery vengeance of Giulio Cesare to the poignant introspection of Theodora. With each aria, Chris brings to life the dramatic intensity and lyrical beauty that have made Handel’s vocal writing a cornerstone of the repertoire. This journey through love, betrayal, triumph, and devotion offers a powerful testament to Handel’s genius and the unique artistry of the countertenor voice. Sponsored by TheGuild of Salt Marsh Opera, the program begins at 7:00pm. All donations encouraged.
