we look back at our 22nd season with gratitude for those who continue to support us, as well as the new friends we have found along the way.

May 18 | Kids Love Opera!

Each year, our Kids Love Opera! program has extended its reach. We’re thrilled to announce that this year we worked with 30 schools to bring live opera to 3,000 elementary and middle school students! For the first time, we offered a production to an enthusiastic New Hampshire audience! With your continuing support, we hope to become New England’s go-to student opera program.

July 10 | Music at the Lighthouse

This highly-anticipated outdoor event combines music with nature and the beauty of the historical Lighthouse of Stonington Borough. Between the ocean air and performances by Lisa Williamson and Spencer Hamlin, our audience was delighted at our annual Music at the Lighthouse! We thank everyone who joined this performance.

August 19 | Opera in the Park

Hundreds gathered on the Old Saybrook Town Green for this year’s Opera in the Park! Abigail Paschke and Kirk Dougherty graced the stage with Blake Hansen on the piano during our treasured annual summer event, which made for a memorable night.

October 2022 | Gianni Schicchi & Trial By Jury

Our final performances of the year included a special double bill of Gianni Schicchi & Trial by Jury, which we performed at The Kate in Old Saybrook, CT and The United Theatre, located in Westerly, RI!

This double bill of one-act comedies by two of opera's most famous composers, Giacomo Puccini and Arthur Sullivan. Gianni Schicchi, Puccini's only comedy, is a laugh-out-loud farce about the Donati Family and the passing of their not so dearly beloved patriarch, Buoso Donati. The family fortune hangs in the balance as each member of the family looks to bend the late Buoso's will to their advantage with the help of the conniving Gianni Schicchi.

In Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury, the hijinks move into the courtroom when a jilted bride and her philandering groom battle it out in divorce court in this slightly updated production of the G&S classic. Please enjoy some of the photos from this year’s fall production

What a wonderful year it has been—thank you for all your support!

We look forward to what 2023 brings.
